Whiptail Interpreting Services, LLC, is a New Mexico interpreting agency owned and operated by Elizabeth (Liz) Marley Hollingsworth. Elizabeth is a native of Roswell. She received her BS and MS in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University. During her time in College Station, Elizabeth learned ASL through church, involvement in the Deaf community, and ASL classes. Her interactions with Deaf students and eventual involvement in Deaf ministry motivated her to learn ASL and become a Certified Interpreter. Elizabeth has been interpreting for over a decade in settings including secondary education, medical, dental, business, government, public services, concert and theater, platform, remote (videoconferencing), and more. She continues to volunteer in Deaf ministry and to advocate for quality language access for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.

Why Whiptail?

The state reptile of New Mexico is the New Mexico Whiptail Lizard. As a 6th-generation New Mexican, Elizabeth loves all things New Mexico! Coincidentally, Elizabeth has had the nickname “Lizard” (or variations thereof) since childhood. Accordingly, Whiptail seemed like a unique, NM-themed name that also resonated with Elizabeth personally.
